What's Considered Not Chargeable/ Not Your Fault?

Please keep in mind that machine damage doesn’t just result in repair costs—it also prevents us from renting the equipment to other clients, leading to lost revenue/unhappy customers and potential hidden issues that may affect machine performance later on.

We do not view damage charges as a way to generate extra income. In fact, damage to our machines almost always results in a financial loss for our business.

We kindly ask that you operate our equipment responsibly and with care. Your caution helps us keep our fleet in top condition and ensures continued service for all our customers.

Damage Assessment and Charge Policy

When damage is reported, we conduct a thorough inspection of both the equipment and the job site to assess how the machine was operated. We also evaluate the general nature and cause of the damage before determining if any charges apply. If the damage is through natural wear and tear, you will not be charged. 


Example 1: Hydraulic Leak on a Machine

If a hydraulic fluid leak is observed (e.g., a puddle under the machine), we investigate the source.


Note: Hydraulic leaks—excluding leaks from attachments like the hydraulic auger/stump grinder —are often due to normal wear and tear. In these cases, no damage charges are applied.


Example 2: Track Came Off a Machine

Tracks may come off for several reasons:


  • Normal loosening of the track, Expansion of Rubber (No Charge)


  • Tearing caused by sharp rocks/objects (Charge Applies)


  • Damage to undercarriage components (Charge Applies)


Example 3: Trailer Tire Popped During Use

We assess the cause of the tire failure:


  • Overloading the trailer (Charge Applies)
  • Nail or puncture damage (Charge Applies)


  • Impact damage such as a bent sidewall or hitting a curb (Charge Applies)
  • It is uncommon for a tire failure not to result in a charge.


Example 4: Trailer Wheel is Smoking

We Assess the Cause of the Smoke:

Bearing  Seized( No Charge) - Wear and Tear

Brakes Overheated - Possible Charge

Tire Issues - Likely Charge


Example 5: Engine Overheating

All our machines are equipped with temperature gauges.


It is the renter’s responsibility to monitor engine temperature during operation.


Damage resulting from overheating will result in a charge, as it typically indicates operator negligence.
